Only on rare occasions does a restaurant achieve the level of success of Osteria del Teatro without doing any advertising, but this small Italian haven is bustling with a vibrant crowd every night thanks to word of mouth alone. If you want to have a chance of enjoying the delicious cuisine, be sure to make a reservation well in advance.

The restaurant is small, leading to cramped quarters and close tables, but nobody seems to mind. Restaurant goers simply enjoy their wine and meals and linger over espressos despite brushing elbows with the table next to them, which is as likely to seat the mayor as it is to seat a hot celebrity.

Owner Dino Pirola is present every night, welcoming sophisticated customers to his Italian haven, and helping people choose off the large menu. Our recommendation: Go with one of the daily specials, which are always delicious. Osteria only offers beer and wine, so don’t expect an apertivo or digestivo to help your stomach recover from the large, delicious Italian meal.
