If you can’t get a reservation at Ola (or simply can’t afford it!) YUCA Restaurant and Lounge is the next best thing. Executive Chef Ramon Medrano trained at YUCA as Sous Chef to Douglas Rodriguez, who has been called “The father of Nuevo Latino cuisine.”
YUCA has a gorgeous interior that can accommodate up to 400 people. Large, panoramic glass windows allow guests dining inside to have views of gorgeous Lincoln Road, and allow passers-bys to see the lively Salsa dancing that takes place on the second floor, and wish they were part of the hip-shaking action.
And with lessons being offered every Friday evening by Salsamia, every one can be a part of the fun! YUCA opened in 1989 in Coral Gables, and transported to its current Lincoln Road location a few years later.
The restaurant prides itself on being one of the only upscale Cuban restaurants in South Florida, and the interior is filled with décor straight out of Havana, including authentic Cuban tiles that line the floor.
The menu features superb Cuban dishes like the Rabo Encendido (tender slow braised oxtail in a fiery rioja wine sauce) and Onion and Yuca Crusted Rack of Lamb.
YUCA is located at 501 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, Florida, 33139. Phone: 305.532.9822
