Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest

The Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest kicks off next weekend with New Orleans’ First Family of Funk - The Neville Brothers who will be joined by Robeto Perera and Nicole Henry at Samson Oceanfront Park on Saturday October 17 at 7pm. While the Sunny Isles strip has little to offer pedestrians dwarfed by the phalanx of generic new high rises, Saturday’s concert should add some much needed warmth to the foreclosure capitol of South Florida.

Proceeds from ticket sales for this year’s event will benefit Joshua’s Heart Foundation, established to stop hunger by empowering the needy and improving their quality of life. A VIP signing of the  Jazz Fest poster will take place on Thursday October 15 at Trump International Beach Resort (18001 Collins Avenue) from 7-9pm with the artist Ed King.

Jazz related events around town also include Aqualina Resort and Spa’s Jazz Vibrations and Libations Friday October 16th at 8pm. The Newport Beachside Resort closes out the festivities Sunday with a Jazz Brunch at 11am featuring Sammy Figueroa and Angela Liano who will perform until 3pm.

Aqualina Resort and Spa is located at 17875 Collins Avenue and Newport Beachside Resort is located at 16701 Collins Avenue. The Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest tickets are $25 general admission, rain or shine and guests are encouraged to bring along blankets or lawn chairs.
