One of the truly elegant steakhouses on Miami Beach, Alfred Portale’s Gotham Steak at the Fontainebleau Resort offers two levels of fine dining with an al fresco terrace overlooking the pool deck and the sea. A modern American Grill, Gotham offers prime beef, fresh seafood, and over 500 wines from around the world stored in a double-height glass tower that is the focal point of the impressive interior design. The chef and owner of the Gotham empire, Portale creates an atmosphere that charms his patrons from the outset of the meal. The menu encompasses tastes from his Italian heritage, preparation bearing his refined French technique and the visual appeal of his unique vertical and architectural plating.
Guests can select a variety of seasonal raw seafood to start their meals or opt for fine caviar, lobster bisque and jumbo lump crab cakes. Gotham serves steaks, burgers, pork ribs and grilled lamb seared to perfection by Chef de Cuisine John Suley in the open exhibition kitchen. A well-edited seafood selection pairs nicely with one of the most impressive collections of wine on the Beach. Servers are youthful, polite and very knowledgeable about the menu making the meal a unique and positive experience throughout. While Prime 112 still holds sway with South Beach steak lovers, Gotham claims a great looking crowd who may like the sizzle, but also appreciate the sophistication of a restaurant that’s both grown up and gorgeous.
