Celebs Walk the Runway in Miami Beach

Fashion Week Miami Beach is attempting to raise awareness of an important issue by having celebs walk the runway…

We need to create much more awareness surrounding America’s #1 killer of women - heart disease. We are very excited to celebrate the RED DRESS CAMPAIGN runway show for Fashion Week Miami today, October 2nd!!!  This movement celebrates the energy, passion and power women have to wipe out this terrible epidemic. Thanks to the participation of millions across the country, the color red—and the red dress—represent the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live healthier lives, free from cardiovascular disease and stroke.  Custom made dresses created  just for this show by designers ranging  from Marc Jacobs to local designers.  These dresses will be then go to the Miami beach Macy’s for a week long silent auction  with all proceeds  going to the American Heart Association.  Please join us!!

There will be celebrities, politicians and survivors walking the runway tonight (Thurs).   Now entering its fifth year, Go Red For Women is the nationwide campaign of The American Heart Association. On Thursday, October 2nd, 2008, the philanthropic efforts of Miami’s Funkshion Fashion Week will help bring awareness to cardiovascular disease by initiating Miami’s first ever Red Dress Fashion Show.
