Miami Beach residents consider all things “Local and Tourist” a matter of particular distinction. When out of town guests arrive, we dutifully grab the car keys and take a quick spin around South Beach to check out Ocean Drive and then find ample parking on the west side of town for dinner at a down home favorite like Sardinia Italian Restaurant.
Recently, Sardinia took over a huge space next door to create a more casual pizzeria and mozzarella bar called Casale Pizzeria. Remarkably, even at the peak of summer heat, this airy new 2-story space has been filled to capacity!
The open-air rooftop patio hosts a nightly happy hour from 5-8pm featuring rounds of drink specials and a live Jazz combo Wednesdays at 9pm. Mondays are Martini Madness, Tuesdays tout Tequila, Thursday is Ladies night and following the TGIFriday specials, Saturday is all about Soccer.
Once you’ve had your rooftop mingle, head downstairs to check out the gems from Miami Beach’s last legal wood-fired pizza oven, delights from the creamy mozzarella bar and the super fresh seafood crudos. With over 8,000 square feet of dining space, there’s rarely a wait for a table and once the weather cools, the restaurant’s ample forecourt will become some of the most prized real estate in town.
If you want to escape the busy east side scene, grab a seat on the South Beach Shuttle and discover the Best of the West!
Casale Pizzeria and Mozzarella Bar is located at 1800 Bay Road, Miami Beach, Florida, 33139. Ristorante Sardinia is located at 1801 Purdy Avenue next door.
