Update: BED is closed.
A dining experience like no other is waiting for you at B.E.D. Standing literally for Beverage, Entertainment and Dining, this South Beach hot-spot has been the center of media attention for years.
B.E.D. is hailed as a progressive nightclub, one where patrons lounge on banquettes and the waitresses wear pajamas to serve bottle after bottle of Crystal to a celebrity-infused clientele. Since the media focus tends is on the booming nightlife, the cuisine tends to be overlooked, which is a supreme shame. B.E.D.’s menu features decadent French fare, served to its posh diners on bamboo trays while they lounge on the beds. (Hint to the ladies: Don’t wear a skirt to B.E.D!)
Since everyone’s attention always seems to be on the nightlife side of things, the kitchen has overcompensated, making every dish a spectacular one. If you ate there a few years back and weren’t impressed, check it out again: The all-star team has worked out the kinks and this cuisine is nothing short of five-star. Start out with the King Crab Open Ravioli with California sweet carrot purée and spicy cream sauce ($18) and follow it up with the Australian Rack of Lamb, served with eggplant muhammara and a pomegranate beurre blanc ($38). Top it all off with the signature dessert, the Fire and Ice-Molten chocolate cake filled with either chocolate or peanut butter cream; topped with vanilla or peanut brittle ice cream ($12).
Once you are done with dinner, feel free to lie back and take a little nap on your pillow. Don’t expect to sleep for long though: In B.E.D. after dinner, the party is just getting started.
